about
After studying architecture at Nottingham University, I was awarded the Diploma of the Architectural Association and elected to the RIBA. I studied for a masters degree in computer science, at Birkbeck College, UCL, and am a member of the Chartered Institute for Project Management. I was trained by CEDR, with whom I worked as a commercial mediator, and worked for the European Mentoring and Coaching Council. I also trained and worked as a neighbourhood mediator for MEND, as an environmental mediator for the Environment Council, and as a counsellor to victims of crime and traumatic incidents for Victim Support.
practice
Prior to moving to Finland, I was an Associate Director at Cyril Sweett, an international multi-disciplinary practice in London, England.
Working for the Chief Executive of Greenwich Council, together with the widest identifiable group of stakeholders, I devised and implemented inner city regeneration programmes, working inclusively with local people and groups and particularly with local, disaffected youth.
The key element of one such programme is the Robert Owen Early Excellence Centre, which became the flagship project in Greenwich Council's Sure Start programme — a central government initiative to deliver integrated care and education services for young children and their families.
For Cyril Sweett, I also managed the development and presentation of offers for several Public-private Partnership (PPP) schools contracts. I developed the role of the Independent Certifier for hospital PPP contracts, and provided this service for the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, London.
For Greenwich Council, and for Cyril Sweett, I devised, and managed the design of several IT driven organisational change projects.
